Norwegian debutant Madden hit a high note with ‘Golden Light’ back in the summer, scoring his first Billboard dance charting hit and garnering 65m streams in the process. Off the heels of his multi-platinum scoring Warner single, the melodically geared producer/songwriter returns this month with an emotional and evocative follow-up.
Madden’s knack for hooks and infectious singalong moments is not lacking in single number two, stepping away from the more typically Scandinavian stylings of his first single for something of a modern pop ballad armed with finely tuned electronic dance teeth. If there’s one positive mark to be taken from this generation of producer’s that have turned to dominating the digital chart space over the club floor, its that some of its artists are making with tracks as poignant and polished as ‘Alive.’
