Porter Robinson and Madeon’s ‘Shelter’ receives eclectic remix from Luca Lush
Porter Robinson and Madeon satisfied long-time fans’ dreams with their wistful collaborative single, “Shelter,” which came accompanied by a joint tour announcement. The two production wizards formulated some smooth indie electropop which paired Porter’s eclectic stylings with Madeon’s refined sound design and vocal talents.
“Shelter” has since gone on to receive no shortage of remixes, including a live one by A-Trak. Rising talent Luca Lush now lends his talent to the pot, spinning the original into a chunky bass piece reflective of his own musical direction. Lush creates a unique arrangement, fooling listeners at first with beachy rhythms and mellow chords before dropping into a sinister, French-inspired entanglement of synthesizers and heavy kicks. Branching even farther from the beginning, he ends the re-work in frenetic fashion with high-pitched melodies that shuffle around core elements in a new groove altogether.
