Watch Dillon Francis appear on MTV’s ‘Ridiculousness’
Dillon Francis has always had a knack for performing that extends beyond DJ sets. The reigning class clown of EDM has discussed his desire to be an actor in the past and has indulged his comedic tendencies both on and offstage over the course of his career; Francis’ numerous Instagram personalities (most notably, German deep house snob DJ Hanzel), bombastic music videos, and string of internet videos with Getter and Nick Colletti have become almost as fundamental to his persona as his musical releases. Most recently, the producer launched a campaign to win a hosting spot on Saturday Night Live.
SNL has yet to announce whether or not Dillon Francis will earn the honor of hosting an episode, but his varied antics have caught the attention of one major network. MTV’s Ridiculousness, a comedy clip show hosted by Rob Dyrdek, recruited Dillon Francis to appear as a guest on September 6. In the episode, Francis explains the origin of his catchphrase, “IDGAFOS,” before Dyrdek launches into a video category dedicated to the mantra. Unsurprisingly, the “IDGAFOS” category features a selection of videos where the subjects engage in hijinks that are emblematic of giving nary a fuck or shit.
