Zedd returns to electro with new Grey-assisted single ‘Adrenaline’
Many remember Zedd‘s initial rise into the spotlight as a leading force in the complextro genre alongside colleagues like Porter Robinson and Madeon. Since then, the German stalwart has experimented with more commercially-directed sounds with crossover anthems like “Clarity” and sugary pop cuts “Candyman” and “Starving.”
The latter track, “Starving,” featured rising duo Grey, whom Zedd has now collaborated with on their festival-ready single, “Adrenaline.” Built on a steady rhythm of tribal percussion, howls, and blaring horns, “Adrenaline” kicks it into high gear with a turbulent drop fueled by a synthesis of bass and electro house elements. Long-time Zedd fans will be pleased to see the German outfit returning to roots.
