Watch the official music video for The Chainsmokers’ ‘Closer’
The Chainsmokers, once the indie remix darlings of the blog world, have blossomed into full-on pop superstars. Having solidified their new appeal with “Roses” and “Don’t Let Me Down,” it was “Closer” that truly took them over the edge into bona fide crossover stardom. The cheeky, folk-inspired dance hit dominated charts, spending 10 weeks atop Spotify.
Now, months later, “Closer” has received its official music video, featuring the The Chainsmokers’ own Drew Taggart alongside the song’s featured vocalist, Halsey. The steamy video tells the fictional tale of their relationship, painting a corresponding visual for the song’s colloquial (albeit relentlessly catchy) lyrics.
The video arrives on the heels of the pair’s new EP announcement, Collage, which will contain three of their recent hits alongside a brand new single.
