Global undergoes expansion, absorbing SW4, Field Day, Rewind festivals
Entertainment behemoth Global has announced a large-scale acquisition in England this week, absorbing six of the country’s cornerstone festivals in the process. The group purchased four festivals off of Impresario: Rewind, Field Day, Boardmaster, and dance staple South West Four (SW4). Y Not and Truck were also purchased off the Count To Ten Group.
Festival acquisition is only a natural step in Global’s growth, which has always been centered around all things related to mainstream music. Global Radio holds the largest stake in the UK’s radio industry, with stations such as Heart, Classic FM, and Capital. In addition to its new leap into the mass event sphere, the media group also announced their stake hold increase in Broadwick live, known for organizing Snowbombing each year in Austria.
