6 things we learned from GTA’s Reddit AMA

GTA have had quite the week; releasing their debut album, celebrating at the Shrine as part of their Good Times Ahead tour, and now engaging their fans in the moment. Taking to Reddit and hosting a 2-hour AMA, GTA answered questions from fans and let them into their world — whether revealing their favorite pro wrestlers, divulging in the fun facts behind their new album, or hinting at upcoming releases. Here are six things we learned…

1. GTA produced “Little Bit of This” in an Atlanta hotel room

That beat eventually made it’s way over to Vince Staples and became the third track off Good Times Ahead.

2. Their collaboration with Diplo didn’t make the album, but will be released

It’s being referred to as “Give Me That Good Head” and featured a vocal from Diplo. It’s 100% complete and should be out sooner than later.

3. They’ve revealed the mystery “Get It All” vocalist

He’s an Australian artist by the name of Stylaz Fuego who did not want to be credited as part of his artist project. He’s contributed to records for Anna Lunoe, Peking Duk and others.

4. “Feel It” began with What So Not

GTA began working an idea that Emoh had started with the vocal melody, and they added drums and synths while together on tour a couple of years back. The final product featured rapper Tunji Ige.

5. “True Romance” came from a subgenre called Corridos

Collaborator Jarina De Marco introduced them to the style Ranchero, and the subgenre of Carridos that is actually about cartels and drug smuggling.

6. GTA’s artists to watch…

Moombahton producer ASH and Good Times Ahead Tour supporter Falcons.
