Justice officially share new single ‘Alakazam!’
We are less than a month away from the release of Justice’s third studio record, the feverishly-anticipated Woman. Previous singles from the record, “Safe and Sound” and “RANDY,” alluded to what will be a sophisticated blend of electro-influenced disco, spiced with a dash of dramatic synth-rock.
The duo’s latest single to roll out ahead of the album’s release, “Alakazam!”, is a return to old form with a rumbling bassline and powerful, driving synth arrangements. Reminiscent of tracks like “Horsepower” and “Stress” before that, the latest offering from Justice recalls the heavy French electro style that they undoubtedly helped define over the last decade.
If the first listen to “Alakazam!” doesn’t instantly recall the bloghaus days, the video accompaniment certainly will. It’s a homegrown patchwork of live footage from the pair’s recent appearance in London at Mangle. In the video, Gaspard and Xavier stand before a packed, sweaty dance floor, preaching truth from a pulpit of disco as hypnotic footage clips through a raucous dancing crowd.
