Major Lazer to release new music in January 2017; listen to a new Diwali version of ‘Cold Water’

Since the release of their last album Peace Is The Mission in June 2015, dancehall super group Major Lazer has been at the forefront of the electronic dance music scene. Collaborating with artists from big room maven Showtek to pop icon Justin Bieber, the group has dominated charts and captivated festival-goers with genre-blending hit after hit.

It looks like 2017 is set to be another big year for new Major Lazer music. In response to a fan asking about an unreleased song in the producer’s Snapchat story, Diplo announced via Twitter that the group is slated to release the follow up album to Peace Is The Mission, entitled Love Is The Weapon, in January 2017.

The announcement comes on the heels of a new “Indian edition” of “Cold Water,” which Major Lazer released over the weekend in celebration of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. The new remix features the talents of Indian producer Anirudh Ravichander.

Love Is The Weapon is expected to include Major Lazer’s recent smashes “Believer” and “Cold Water.” Moreover, Diplo had previously announced that the group’s fourth studio album will be featuring a slew of prominent artists, including Travi$ Scott, Usher, Sia, and .
