The DA Hot 25: November 25, 2016

The DA Hot 25 is the definitive playlist series running through dance music culture and hand-delivering you with the essential tracks of the week. Whether it’s the hottest or quickest trending tracks, brand new music from your favorite artists, or songs from the unknown that should be landing on your radar, Dancing Astronaut brings you 25 carefully selected records that reflect what’s happening in our world.

This week’s playlist features new originals from Flume, San Holo, and Otto Knows; stellar remixes from Adam K, Tiësto, Poté; and breakout offerings from newcomers Mont Blvck, Mount, and Ynnox. Additionally, we’ve provided our picks from within The DA Hot 25, highlighting two standout tracks.

The Heat of the Week: Flume – Heater

Flume released his Skin Companion EP that consisted of four tracks that surprisingly did not make it onto his sophomore LP. All four tracks certainly could have fit their way into the album, but “Heater” stood out amongst the bunch for Flume’s innovative layers of textures and unusual sounds.

The Breakout Select: Mont Blvck – Gimme

Underground leaders should be on the look out for Mont Blvck. The LA duo just released their first original, “Gimme,” and it is a truly impressive output that synthesizes ominous and ethereal moods into one cohesive house arrangement.
