DA Premiere: Moby – Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad (Enrico Sangiuliano Remix)
A variety of dance music heavyweights on Adam Beyer’s iconic Drumcode label have been selected to provide their own renditions of Moby’s greatest hits, transforming classic singles into pulsating techno remixes fit for the dancefloor.
Drumcode newcomer Enrico Sangiuliano, whose recent single “Moon Rocks” ignited the dance world earlier this year, found himself among those recruited for remix duties. The Italian producer divulged his excitement over the rework: “I’ll never forget the moment when Adam asked, ‘Hey mate, do u wanna remix Moby?’ Obviously my level of enthusiasm was out of this world and of course I replied with a ‘yes!'”
Sangiuliano’s goal was to create a driving, “peak time mental techno track” out of the downtempo tune “Why Does My Heart Feels So Bad,” and he surely delivered. Emotive vocals from the original fit seamlessly into a grooving soundscape comprised of heavy percussion, deep bass, and subtle synth accents placed at various spots within the re-work. Sangiuliano maintains just enough of the original to create a moving effect on its listeners. Check out the the full clip below.
