DA Premiere: Salva – Saw The Light feat. Winston Howard (Radio Mix)

Los Angeles-based Salva is a man of many beats, with notable work from his groundbreaking remix with RL Grime of Kanye West’s “Mercy,” to his 2014 rap-tinged LP, Peacemaker. Though his music from the last few years has heavily derived from a hip-hop angle, Salva surprises with his first original track in months: a bouncy dance track titled “Saw The Light.”

“Saw The Light,” which has single artwork made by Salva, marks his shift away from his usual trap productions, for an embrace of vocal-heavy club music. For his latest project, Salva links up with new vocalist Winston Howard to write and produce a radio mix that’s composed of house influences at an uptempo level of 124 BPM.

“It’s been a while since I’ve released some proper dance music, so I’m really excited to take a break from making rap beats to share my new single ‘Saw The Light,’” Salva says. “My fans know that I’ve always had a love for proper House music throughout the years, which can be heard in my songs like ‘I’ll Be Your Friend,’ ‘BBQ,’ ‘Yellobone,’ and my remixes for Boys Noize, Chromeo and Rihanna. You can definitely hear my old school Chicago House influences on this track and I’m excited for everyone to hear it.”

The track appears on Salva’s upcoming House/Techno EP, set for release early next year.
