deadmau5 shares new hip hop collaboration with Shotty Horroh

Deadmau5 may be putting out a new album in two weeks, but that hasn’t deterred him from working on new music — if anything, it’s compelled him to push his creative boundaries even further. The Canadian producer recently hosted a Twitch stream of himself working on a new collaboration with Manchester-based rapper Shotty Horroh. The 5-hour live stream yielded new song “Okay,” which fans have already captured and uploaded to YouTube.

The song finds Zimmerman crafting a slick hip hop beat, with a vintage string sample and sawtooth bassline providing the perfect foundation for Shotty Horroh’s seemingly effortless flows.

Contrary to most of his fan-uploaded stream rips, deadmau5 has endorsed this one, even sharing the collaboration online. In fact, deadmau5 was so enthralled with the new collaboration, he even mused about the possibility of producing an entire Shotty Horroh album: “I should just produce a whole album for Shotty Horroh… dudes so easy to work with,” Zimmerman wrote on Twitter.
