Flume premieres new track ‘Quirk’ over video of him surfing
When artists hit a certain level of success, it’s important to ride the wave, and Australian DJ/producer Flume is taking that mantra quite literally.
After a massive touring year in support of his sophomore LP Skin released back in May, Flume celebrates the beginning of yet another chapter of music with an inspiring surf video that premieres a new track of his, “Quirk,” off the sold out 12″ Skin Companion EP dropping November 25 via Mom + Pop.
With a mix of friends and surf pros in tow, the Aussie electronic maestro took time out of his headline tour to join world surfing champion Kelly Slater at his wavepool “Surf Ranch” in Central California for a chance to ride his first artificial wave which he says has been “a dream since primary school.” Much like his boundary-pushing productions, Flume’s surf skills also prove to be solid gold.
