
Kygo has remixed Daft Punk and The Weeknd’s ‘Starboy’
Norwegian trop-pop mogul Kygo has released a new remix of The Weeknd and Daft Punk’s super collaboration, “Starboy.” Kygo slows down the single, emphasizing the vocal chops and building out a palatable downtempo beat behind it.
Kygo said of the track: “Got the chance to remix this incredible track. Hope you guys like it!”
Back in the summer of 2015, Kygo made a serious splash when he flipped The Weeknd’s single, “Often,” into a darker, tropical-meets-trap remix that stood out amongst his other island-tinged reworks. Since then, Kygo has endured a meteoric rise with recent achievements including two sold-out nights at the Hollywood Bowl and a headlining performance at the 2016 Olympics Closing Ceremony.
This remix marks the first official release from the Scandinavian producer since his debut album, Cloud Nine. Listen below:
