Alison Wonderland x M-Phazes – Messiah (Original Mix)
Alison Wonderland continues to be bass music’s female champion, making recent waves when she previewed her monstrous remix of “Crazy” by Lido. The Australian producer may have dropped her debut album Run back in 2015, but she’s only now emerging from a lull in original releases with “Messiah,” a collaboration with M-Phazes.
Her newest single ditches the energetic trap elements found in Run to make way for her commanding vocals that pair finely with a tropical-tinged beat. Though her first original track of the year, “Messiah” has proven that the production break was well worth the wait.
“Messiah” is a harmonic union between two admired Australian artists, and uses its pop-inspired soul and lush vocals to rev up a genre that’s lately been overdone and underwhelming. With Wonderland back shaking up the trap scene, we can only hope that Lido remix gets an official release soon, though she tells a fan she’s “so excited for it.”
