Iceland’s Secret Solstice Festival reveals 2017 lineup

Iceland has always been known for breathtaking scenery, and although it’s a remote and sparsely populated place — the least densely populated country in Europe — extremely cheap flights over recent years have made the country much more accessible. As if foreigners needed more reason to visit, the country’s leading music festival Secret Solstice has been putting on some extraordinary events, such as the world’s first rave inside a glacier and concert inside a volcano.

The main Secret Solstice event takes place over the summer solstice in June, when the sun shines 24 hours a day, and last year featured world-class talent such as Radiohead, Deftones, Jamie Jones, Skream, and Die Antwoord. The first phase lineup for the 2017 event, which will take place June 16-18, was just announced, and with it, one of the world’s most unique festivals looks to meet and exceed previous years.

So far, the headliners that will play “under the Midnight Sun” in 2017 include Foo Fighters, The Prodigy, Dubfire, Dusky, and Foreign Beggars. Check out the announcement video above for the full lineup, and head over to the Secret Solstice website for early-bird tickets and more information.
