Icon Spotlight: November

Icon Collective has solidified its reputation as the premier educational facility for electronic music production on the West Coast. The North Hollywood arts school has become a breeding ground for the next generation of talent, as evidenced by its formidable track record, which includes the likes of Jauz, MAKJ, Slander, SNBRN and more.

To spotlight some of the amazing talent coming out of the school, we’ve teamed up with Icon for a new series highlighting tracks from the past month from both current students and Icon graduates.

The rest of the music world may be slowing down for the holidays, but the vibrant artistic community of Icon Collective is only ramping up. November proved one of the school’s most active months yet, with numerous submissions to sort through when constructing our serial Icon Spotlight feature.

Standouts from last month included TIEDIE’s glittery garage number “Sway” as well as Bee Knee’s serene spin on French Horn Rebellion’s “Second Opinion.” KLAXX delivered a crushing hybrid remix of Boombox Cartel & QUIX’s ubiquitous 2016 anthem “Supernatural,” while Ben Maxwell & SLOVES lent their delicate touch to Sweater Beats’ new vocal single “Better.” Lastly, new artist Kaivon debuted his project with “Reborn,” a careening future bass composition with a savvy arrangement.
