The Prodigy to release new music in 2017
Back in early 2015, The Prodigy officially reemerged into the electronic music landscape with their sixth studio album The Day Is My Enemy, earning their sixth consecutive number one album in the process. The release culminated six years of studio work from the seminal electronic band, also kickstarting an international touring stint that continues into 2017.
On top of future performance dates — which includes festivals like Iceland’s Secret Solstice — The Prodigy have confirmed new music to come in the new year. The band shared the news on Twitter on Christmas, writing: “New tunes coming 2017” and sharing various hashtags which may very well correspond to an EP or album name.
Back in 2015, The Prodigy also hinted at retirement for the first time in their two-decade long career, remarking that “it’s got to be soon.” If such is this case, this may be some of the last music we receive from the band… ever.
