Check out 1001tracklists’ ‘Top 100 Producers’ ranking
1001tracklists, an online database of EDM tracks, podcasts, live sets, and unreleased IDs, has revealed its ‘Top 100 producers’ list for the year 2016. However, there is a major difference in the ranking parameters of this particular list as compared to more traditional counterparts. Unlike most lists, including DJ Mag’s ‘Top 100 DJs,’ which use a public voting system to judge and rank the DJs, 1001tracklists’ ranking system “reflects the cumulative amount of unique DJ support for tracks played in 2016.”
Essentially, the site checks the number of unique DJs who support a particular artist by featuring the artist’s music, adding up each individual DJ who has supported an artist to give the DJ their score. The artists are then ranked in ascending order of score. This results in a more impartial way of ranking DJs as compared to a fan based poll.
Furthermore, the list even allows viewers to see each artist’s most popular songs, simply by clicking on a tab next to the artist’s name.
