Flume gives fans first glimpse of new music in 2017 with Instagram teaser

While Flume has been an internationally-renowned influence in dance music for several years, Harley Streten’s career reached new heights in 2016. In addition to earning coveted placements in the lineups of major festivals like Coachella, the release of Flume’s sophomore album dramatically shifted his role within the music industry. Skin propelled the Australian producer from presiding over a substantial cult following to becoming a major player in the mainstream musical zeitgeist. After sweeping the ARIAs in November, the LP has also garnered Streten two Grammy nominations – Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording, for its lead single, “Never Be Like You.”

Having already locked down major slots in forthcoming lineups such as this summer’s Bonnaroo, Flume is poised to reprise his momentous 2016 in the coming year. Now, the artist has given fans the first glimpse of what to expect from him musically in 2017. In an excruciatingly short video posted to his Instagram account, Flume teases a work in progress in his studio. Though only four seconds long, the video shows a song that exhibits all the elements of a successful Flume production. Replete with dazzling synths, modulated vocals, and lush bass stabs, the currently unidentified piece will likely become a festival fixture pending its release.
