Launchpad: 13 trap and dubstep tracks that pack a punch

The Launchpad is a biweekly series showcasing hot new music hand selected by our staff. The tracks in these curated playlists come from both underground and mainstream artists that we love. If you’d like to see your music featured in the Launchpad, you can submit it for consideration here.

For this week’s final edition of Launchpad, we are turning the volume up with some of the hottest and most exciting trap and dubstep tracks out right now. These 13 tracks have been curated with the intent of closing the weekend on a high note.

Highlights:

“Missing You (feat. Sophie Meiers),” produced by prolific bass music duo Holly & Valentine, is as vibrant as it is formidable. The track starts off with a very enchanting atmospheric intro, but quickly pivots into relentless dubstep. Both drops are very different from one another, giving the track excellent depth.

It’s no debate that Calvin Harris had a successful end of 2016 with his hit single, “My Way”, released back in September. Soon after the rising Miami-based artist, Emkay, showed the world what his upbeat interpretation looked like. Emkay has been spinning in Miami clubs since the age of 17 and his “My Way” remix is certainly a testament to this successful track record. Comprised of an addictive kick pattern and methodical pan flute melodies, this remix is a reminder of what thoughtful reinvention looks like.

Jaiko’s “Lethe (Ft. Jeff Kush)”, is a bass-heavy trap record that stands out for its dynamic track arrangement. Things kick off with a catchy hip hop vocal, then transition into unforgiving reverb-laden bass synths. “Lethe” later drops into double-time tempo giving listeners a huge burst of energy and an element of surprise.
