Launchpad: 14 pop and vocal house tracks to kick the weekend into full gear
The Launchpad is a biweekly series showcasing hot new music hand selected by our staff. The tracks in these curated playlists come from both underground and mainstream artists that we love. If you’d like to see your music featured in the Launchpad, you can submit it for consideration here.
There are few better ways to celebrate the weekend than throwing on a catchy track with an exciting chorus and upbeat tempo. For that reason, this Saturday installment of Launchpad features some of the best pop and vocal house tracks that are out right now.
Highlights:
Released via Armada Deep last week, Boehm’s “Let’s Give It A Shot” is an upbeat tropical house original comprised of Brandyn Burnette’s warm vocals, very addictive guitar riffs, and a fast-paced kick drum. The proliferation and success of vocal-infused tropical house is not a foreign concept to the current dance music scene, but “Let’s Give It A Shot” stands taller than the rest and will get you counting down the days until summer.
Lauv had a very prolific 2016; the LA-based artist’s “Breathe” has accumulated over one million plays on Spotify and he made his festival debut at Firefly Music Festival. “Breathe” is a beautiful pop song packed with incredibly passionate vocals and very soft guitar chords.
Zagata’s “Starlight” is an 80’s synthwave number that is one of the Montreal-based singer’s best pieces yet. The track kicks off with a brief and playful piano melody but quickly transitions into explosive synth patterns, reverb-laden drum hits, and a emotional vocal hook. “Starlight” truly excels as it maintains a perfect level of nostalgia and equally a modern feel and vibe.
