Watch The xx perform ‘Lips’ on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

Following the release of their third studio album, I See You, English trio The xx took to national television to perform “Lips” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In the video, group members, Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim appear on left and right stage respectively carrying the vocals and guitar aspects of the performance, while Jamie xx looms in the middle manning synthesizer and turntables. Additionally, the artists released a performance of “Say Something Loving” as a web exclusive on The Tonight Show’s Youtube Channel. Both performances capture the explosive color and variety The xx brought to their new album – from melodic ballads to percussive stomps, this album deserves its popular reception.

The xx appeared on Saturday Night Live last November to debut “I Dare You” and promote the January release of I See You. The group is listed to play Coachella in April, as well as tour the United States in months following the festival. These live television performances give fans initial exposure of what to expect at these upcoming shows. Last performing in the United States in 2014, the trio has an eager fan-base waiting to see what new live shows will bring. If the performance on The Tonight Show is any indication of what to expect, The xx will certainly live up to their hype.
