Beyoncé will not be performing at Coachella 2017

Following the success of her avant-garde Lemonade video album in 2016, Beyoncé’s headlining slot at Coachella 2017 was one of the most unilaterally appealing facets of the coming year’s magnanimous lineup. However, recent concerns that the superstar would have to back out of the performance because of her pregnancy with twins have, unfortunately, been confirmed.

Today, February 23, Coachella posted the following announcement to their Facebook page:

Naturally, the news comes as a major – though understandable – disappointment to many festival-goers, even outside of the Beyoncé’s fanbase. The vocalist’s set would have marked the first female headlining show at Coachella since Bjork’s performance 10 years ago. “Beyhive” members will be pleased to know that she has been confirmed as a headliner for the 2018 installation.

At press time, there is no indication as to who the replacement headliner will be.
