DA Premiere: Amentia – Prince Des Marais (John Monkman Edition)
Over the past few years, Chapter 24 Records has established itself as one of the most exciting new labels in the house and techno sphere. With a consistency that trumps some of the underground’s most prolific imprints, Chapter 24 has become a bastion of sorts for the next generation of standout electronic artists.
Chapter 24’s first release of the year arrives from French duo Amentia in the form of a five track EP titled Prince Des Marais, including a pummeling remix from John Monkman which Dancing Astronaut is exclusively premiering.
Monkman, coming off big releases on imprints like Anjunadeep and Kompakt, has taken Amentia’s single and crafted a well-wrought dancefloor revision. In line with the superb quality of his growing catalogue, Monkman’s edition showcases a seemingly effortless clarity in its arrangement and intention, offering a straightforward reimagining that is bound to provide some big moments on the dancefloor throughout 2017.
Amentia’s Prince Des Marais EP is out on February 24 on Chapter 24.
