Tropical house’s mellow atmosphere give off vibes reminiscent of mellow, Indie-leaning rock akin to that of Jack Johnson or John Mayer. The latter of those two names seems to have also recognized the stylistic similarity between the genre and his own music, and subsequently endeavored to take on the style with nothing but an electric guitar.

In a video uploaded to his Instagram account, John Mayer do a rather expert job of replicating a tropical house song by tapping on the guitar’s body while strumming out light, airy chords that paint images of beaches and margaritas. If ever put out as a studio release, the song would certainly sound at home in a Kygo set.
