The artists’ union had been previously revealed early in February, when news broke that Gomez had registered a song with ASCAP that which included name in the writing credits. Anticipation was heightened when Kygo uploaded a video to his Instagram teasing the collaboration.
The Norwegian producer has now taken to Twitter to announce that “It Ain’t Me” will be released Thursday, February 16. The post shows a promotional picture of the two artists with the caption “Thursday. #Itaintme.” The high profile collaboration is likely to prove a mainstream hit, following the success of Kygo’s “Starboy” remix and his contribution of “Cruise” to the 50 Shades Darker official soundtrack.
