Launchpad: Top February Picks

The Launchpad is a biweekly series showcasing hot new music hand selected by our staff. The tracks in these curated playlists come from both underground and mainstream artists that we love. If you’d like to see your music featured in the Launchpad, you can submit it for consideration here.

This week’s Launchpad consists of some of our favorite picks over the past month. Exploring genres that include deep house, future house, bass heavy trap, and radio-worthy pop, these handpicked artists showcase some of the most exciting talent, craftsmanship, and masterful production.

Highlights:

“Immortality”, produced by IBI, brings forth something new and refreshing to the experimental trap side of dance music. Driven by sultry vocal chops and haunting piano melodies, this song drops into a bass-centric beat topped off with experimental sounds. It’s a new, unique blend of instrumentation and meticulous sound design giving this musical niche strong name for itself.

Oriental Cravings showcase their fresh, one-of-a-kind sound in “Nomad,” featuring the smooth and heartfelt vocals by Luna Nae. This tune fuses Asian instruments with massive saws and driving vocals, giving this duo a very unique flair amongst a crowded dance music scene. This is just one song in their arsenal of powerful, culture-inspired tracks, and it’s safe to say that Oriental Cravings is an exciting dynamic duo on the rise.

If you like Valentino Khan or Kayzo, then Reach’s formidable track “Givitup” will be one to listen to. “Givitup” is armed with jungle percussion, huge synths, and a bouncy, spacious rhythm. Reach shows his artistry off in “Givitup,” as he skillfully combines influences from Jungle Terror, Trapstyle, and Moombahton.
