RHYS – Last Dance
Scandinavia has had a fair say in the middle grounds between the electronic and pop worlds, especially that from the land that gave us such pioneering examples as Robyn, Avicii and Swedish House Mafa. But at just 19-years-old, up-and-coming Swedish/American artist RHYS has quickly hallmarked a far more universally digestible take on that crossroad, returning to Warner Music this month with one of her most confident moments in the spotlight to date. Finely tuned Swedish pop hallmarks meet a tropical twist for ‘Last Dance,’ a track that fully utilizes the 19-year-old’s luscious vocal chops whilst also forming of the more perky break up songs to emerge so far this year. It’s all the right kinds of hooky and contagious electronic pop, placing RHYS in a league of her own for 2017.
