Watch Jean-Michel Jarre, Moby and Hans Zimmer discuss electronic music

In celebration of his Best Dance/Electronic Album Grammy nomination for Electronica 1: The Time Machine, legendary producer Jean-Michel Jarre invited some of his illustrious collaborators and electronic music innovators for an intimate panel discussion ahead of the awards ceremony this Sunday in Los Angeles.

Invited panelists included world-renowned DJ and producer Moby, commercial electronica pioneer Gary Numan, film score luminary Hans Zimmer (who kept mum about his highly-anticipated forthcoming performance at Coachella in April), electro pop singer-songwriter Little Boots and musician Julia Holter, all of whom have collaborated with Jarre on the nominated LP or its sequel Electronica 2: The Heart Of Noise. Moderated by KCRW’s Nic Harcourt, the two-hour conversation was as varied as its guests with topics ranging from the moment they each fell in love with electronic music to evolving distribution methods to how electronic music is “more emotionally impacting” than “real music.”

Dancing Astronaut had a front row seat to the esteemed panel discourse which is available above to view in its entirety.
