Beginner DJ class in England turns into gigantic rave before getting broken up by police
England seems to be in the midst of a nascent trend for surreptitious dance parties. First, an AirBnB rental was turned into DIY nightclub and now what was supposed to be an introductory DJ’ing class turned into a full-blown rave.
The Rushcliffe School in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire had scheduled what it thought it would be a beginnger’s DJ class from 7-10pm on the evening of March 11. However, the event quickly evolved into a 250-person party and police were called at 2am, though the party continued until 3:30am before being shutdown. News reports say revelers were decked out in glow sticks and swigging beer.
Rushcliffe School’s headteacher Steve Lewis told media outlets that no staff were on hand during the event and that trust had been placed in the “wrong hands.” Police reported only minor damages and were “satisfied that no offences [had] been committed.”
