Birocratic – Bob Ross Goes to Hollywood (Original Mix)
Between a steady string of releases and catching the eye of GRiZ‘s All Good Records, Birocratic announced himself as producer to watch in 2016. Following a brief period of dormancy, the beatsmith is back in 2017 with a new original on the eve of a new album, Beets 4, dropping March 20.
Entitled, “Bob Ross Goes to Hollywood,” Birocratic’s latest does a good job of matching its namesake’s prodigious mellowness. A glitchy intro heavy on sampled bass plucks would seem to intimate a harder, funkier production but instead the producer offers up a shuffling backbeat accented with numerous organ and piano samples. Most impressive is the sheer amount of samples Birocratic is able to mold into an infectious, rising-falling action while managing to keep things smooth and entirely coherent.
