Everfest & Fest300 join forces to rank the top world’s top festivals
2016 saw the merger of festival discovery behemoths Everfest and Fest300, whose joint mission is to enable music & festival lovers to find the best experiences across the globe to suit their personal preferences. After putting together an extensive list of nominees compiled by Fest300 co-founder, Burning Man Board member, and Airbnb Strategic Advisor Chip Conley, both brands’ 500k member-strong community have placed their votes and ranked the world’s top 300 festivals for 2017.
This year’s focus for nominations fell on festivals that incorporate more ritualistic elements into their spread, like yoga & art. Gatherings under this category have seen an increased global demand — largely in part due to people wanting to escape the pressure of a digital and globalized world, believes Conley. “The more the world becomes crazy, the more we seek refuge,” he noted. As a result, the list was compiled so “that our Everfest/Fest300 fan base can seek out new places beyond the ‘default’ world.”
Per tradition, 30 festivals of the list of 300 were replaced with brand new discoveries, written in and deliberated upon by the Fest300/Everfest fanbase. Mirroring the changing landscape to accommodate increased transformational gatherings, new additions this year include Florida’s new Okeechobee festival, Earth Frequency in Australia, the Djakarta Warehouse project in Indonesia, and more.
