Legendary Gorillaz album ‘Demon Days’ to be reissued on vinyl

As the revival of the Gorillaz project continues, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have announced plans to rerelease their iconic Demon Days LP on red, translucent vinyl with an exclusive sticker pack. This limited reissue will be available in April to Vinyl Me, Please subscribers, and featured as the service’s album of the month. Animated band members 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs are featured on the front and back of two respective records within the pack. Demon Days contains hits Gorillaz is most known for, including but not limited to “Feel Good, Inc.,” “Dare,” and “Dirty Harry.” Known for inventive sound and visual accompaniment, Gorillaz is a project that makes a rerelease like this work so well.

This announcement comes on the heels of word the project will release its fifth studio album this year, as well as launch the Demon Dayz Festival in the UK. Damon Albarn, one half of Gorillaz, is a prolific artist whose talent extends beyond just this project. As the front man for Blur, he helped create the aggressively ebullient “Song 2,” and as a solo artist produced the exceptional Everyday Robots album a few years ago. Jamie Hewlett, the artistic and visual creator behind Gorillaz animated band members, developed the artwork for noteworthy comics like Tank Girl and Judge Dredd. The reunion of these two exemplary talents in a new album, festival, and this Demon Days reissue is brilliant and exciting.
