Jauz drops free original, ‘Claim To Be’

Jauz had a remarkable 2016 to say the least, from his spearheading his own Off the Deep End series to remixing Porter Robinson and Passion Pit. Now the LA-based phenom has returned with his first original of 2017, “Claim To Be.”

“Claim To Be” is quintessential Jauz, tying together many of the producer’s most well-known influences into one rambunctious concoction. The song begins in bass house territory for instance (albeit in halftime), before transitioning into a devastating dubstep drop. The bridge lends a catchy acapella into the fray before returning to Jauz’s signature bass house style. It’s an altogether engrossing assemblage, and an apt showcase of Jauz’s multi-genre tendencies.
