LCD Soundsystem land Brooklyn Steel residency

Grammy nominated LCD Soundsystem announced today that they will take up residency in a new Brooklyn nightclub called Brooklyn Steel. Frontman James Murphy and his profusion of supporting performers will take the stage once per night from April 6-11 for the opening nights of the new club. LCD Soundsystem reunited in 2015 after nearly half a decade hiatus, signed with Columbia Records, and ripped into the festival scene in 2016 with remarkable headlining performances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Bonnaroo.

The group’s momentum shows little signs of slowing as well – Murphy previously indicated a new album is in the works, and even cancelled international tour dates last fall. As for 2017, they are slated to headline Shaky Knees, Ottawa Bluesfest, and Pitchfork festivals and are anticipated to bring the thunder seen in last year’s festival rounds. This residency is an expected fallout from such a striking return, and rarely is a comeback so swift and ubiquitous. For those looking for an intimate experience with Murphy and gang, this Brooklyn Steel residency is a great way to break through the noise typical to large music festivals and see LCD Soundsystem up close and personal.
