Breakaway Music Festival returns for 2017
Ohio-based promotions company Prime Social Group is back at it again for the return of Breakaway Music Festival. Last years event took place in Columbus, OH, and rallied around 25,000 attendees to the Ohio Expo Center & State Fair Grounds. This year’s festival is back, but with vengeance for a bigger, better year. Today, April 12, PSG announced Breakaway will return to Columbus, but take home to a new venue, the MAPFRE Stadium. The event is set for Labor Day Weekend on September 1 and 2. In addition to the return to Ohio, the organizers are excited and proud to announce the expansion of the festival to Grand Rapids, MI, on August 25 and 26.
The success of last year’s event has us excited to see what’s in store for the lineup this time around. Grammy award winning Chance The Rapper headlined 2016 with a well-rounded bill including Rae Sremmurd, Young Thug, Dillon Francis, RL Grime, Alison Wonderland and 20 other additional acts. Breakaway is proud to be a festival that breaks the boundaries of typical lineups, priding themselves in booking up-and-coming artists that evade the traditional trap of genres.
