Deadmau5 begins design work on more portable ‘Cube Lite’
Dynamic production has always been a cornerstone pillar of the deadmau5 touring vision. Joel Zimmerman’s latest tour has been defined by the revival of his famed “Cube” setup as an even more grandiose “Cube 2.1,” which has provided an immensely stunning visual experience thus far for his fans.
After his “lots of shows in a row” tour wraps up, further positive developments await for the Canadian star. Zimmerman announced recently that he’d been tweaking his LED mau5 helmet to begin bringing along to shows with him. Now, plans for a new development, “Cube Lite,” have been put into place.
Deadmau5 posted a photo of the new apparatus’ designs on Instagram, advising followers that it “is the same cube 2.1 but lighter and no motors so we can tour MORE venues.” Hopefully, the new Cube will be ready to go by the next time he embarks on a large-scale global tour.
