Deadmau5 to perform warehouse takeover for first Insomniac event in 5 years
2017 is a great year to be a deadmau5 fan. Following his W:/2016ALBUM/ LP last December and his stuff i used to do compilation in February, Joel Zimmerman has continued to break new ground in his concert announcements. While the artist’s primary performative endeavor this year has thus far been his fabled Cube 2.1 show series for the “lots of shows in a row” tour, deadmau5 has also been announcing coveted b2b sets with Eric Prydz on an increasingly frequent basis, and will reprise his long-dormant techno alias, TESTPILOT, at this year’s Movement festival.
Today, April 10, Zimmerman announced another significant milestone – the imminence of his first performance for Insomniac in five years.
On April 29, deadmau5 will host a mau5trap warehouse takeover at the warehouse which often hosts Insomniac’s Factory93 in Los Angeles. Given the setting and supporting acts – Brazilian techno maven ANNA and dark horse mau5trap producer Monstergetdown – it’s likely that Zimmerman will proffer a techno-heavy set for the occasion. Perhaps even more exciting than the immediate allure of the event, however, is the implications that a new partnership between deadmau5 and Insomniac could have for billing at future events.
Tickets will be available here starting tomorrow, April 11.
