Com Truise announces first album in 6 years with a new single
Synthwave icon Com Truise has announced his first album in 6 years since the release of 2011’s Galactic Melt. The multi talented producer will release his next LP, Iteration on June 16 via Ghostly. To hold fans over during the wait, producer Seth Haley has released the album’s lead single “Memory” and announced a slew of North American tour dates with Clark, to boot.
With Iteration, Haley plans to enter the next chapter of the project’s journey through “neon-streaked melodies” and “bleary nostalgia” into a technicolor exploration of man’s emotive power as facilitated through machines. According to a press release, the LP will build on the producer’s previous releases under the moniker, furthering Com Truise’s conceptual character arc full of yearning, anxiety, and optimism in outer space.
Though Haley’s tracks are blissfully reticent, his lush narratives assert themselves within the oscillations of his masterful synthwork. “It’s basically like I’m scoring this film in my head, but that film I’m scoring is somehow my life,” said Haley of the album which was written during a time of transition as the East Coast native adjusted to a new life in Los Angeles. Far away from the familiar, Haley found himself fighting homesickness and burnout between international tour dates and a demanding production calendar. To cope, the producer tapped into a renewed enthusiasm for the music, giving his creations more room to breathe.
“For me,” said Haley of Iteration, “It feels like change.”
