Goldroom returns with summery single, ‘Spread Love’
Goldroom has cemented his status as one of the west coast’s most earnest purveyors of feel-good dance music. Having been a notable artist in the space for years, Goldroom — real name Josh Legg — delivered his debut album West of the West in September.
Now Legg has returned with a brand new offering titled “Spread Love.” The track has been a steady staple in his performance arsenal over the past few months, and as such, has existed solely in live format until this point.
“Spread Love” is Goldroom at his best, channeling a cheerful, uplifting demeanor by way of sunny chord sequences and anthemic songwriting. It’s the kind of celebratory summer single that has come to embody Legg’s burgeoning brand of dance music.
Goldroom said of the release: “My goal for this song was to try and capture the kind of simple earnestness that a lot of early French House had, which was a major inspiration for me. Playing it on the road the last few months, the vibe in the room would just light up as audiences reacted to the energy of the song. It felt like it was the right time to release the song to the world.”
