Gorillaz release ZHU’s haunting remix of ‘Andromeda’

Only a week remains until the April 28, when Gorillaz will release their long-awaited HUMANZ LP. As anticipation for the album continues to increase, ZHU has released his official remix to the group’s DRAM-assisted song, “Andromeda.” The elusive artist premiered his remix to the track during his set last month at Ultra Music Festival. In full, the remix is as chilling as fans would expect.

In his revision, which comes a day after his Blacklizt New York announcement, ZHU integrates Damon Albarn’s vocals into a stylistically dynamic soundscape, vacillating between mesmerizing, uplifting segments, chilling plucked synths, and dark, caustic bass patterns. True to his remixing form, ZHU also provides several bars of his own eerie falsetto vocals to augment the mystifying nature of the piece.
