Feed Me shares ‘Existential Crisis’ ahead of eponymous EP

On Friday, May 19, Feed Me will return to mau5trap with his forthcoming Existential Crisis EP. The five-track output will mark Jon Gooch’s first release on deadmau5’s imprint since 2013 (with the exception of his “Strobe” remix for the label’s 100th release compilation last year). Fittingly, Joel Zimmerman premiered the EP’s titular track on the May broadcast of his BBC Radio 1 Residency.

With two days remaining until Feed Me’s great return, the producer has elected to share the titular track of Existential Crisis in full. Driven by the formidable bass patterns and intricate synth melodies which defined Gooch’s signature sound in his early days on mau5trap, it seems that “Existential Crisis” is anything but its name. Rather, with his newest original, Feed Me revisits his nascent identity with the years of production prowess he has since accrued.
