Multiple attendees at Summer Camp Music Festival reportedly struck by lightning
We’ve all seen an electrifying festival set before. Though maybe some more electrifying than others.
In Chillicothe, Illinois reports of attendees at Summer Camp Music Festival having been struck by lightning appeared on Twitter over the weekend. As the festival kicked off its first day, a massive thunder storm poured down on festival-goers. Although the storm only affected festival grounds for about 30 minutes, multiple people were reportedly struck by bolts of lightening.
Tweets reported that two to five people had been struck, and initially it was not clear among reports across various social media outlets that everyone who was struck is in stable condition. With the threatening weather conditions, stages were shut down for a period of time, but the music resumed about 20 minutes after the storm passed. Later reports seemed to confirm all attendees were in stable condition.
Due to weather conditions, stages are currently shut down. We hope to be up & running again in 15-20 min after the storm passes! Stay safe!
