Watch the official music video for Emmit Fenn’s ‘1995’

Emmit Fenn has appeared seemingly out of thin air, but he looks to be well on his way toward achieving “household name” status. The dark horse producer has racked up a substantial following in the past two years, with his debut hit, 2015’s “Painting Greys,” sitting at over 12 million Spotify plays. With a well-honed catalogue that stylistically sits somewhere in between the essences of Flume and James Blake, it’s unsurprising that the young artist has resonated so loudly at this early career stage.

Fenn opts for a prodigious rather than overly prolific approach in his releases, valuing quality and ingenuity over quantity. Late in April, the producer released “1995,” a wistful, vocal-heavy output which he debuted through a unique, interactive visual experience. Today, May 3, Fenn has bolstered the intriguing premiere route through a more traditional mode, with the official music video for the aforementioned single. Directed by Conner Bell, the stark film masterfully captures the austerity of the song’s production and suitably complements the initial interactive release.

It’s worth noting that the artist’s website includes a number of experiences which are currently locked, foreshadowing bigger things to come. Though we’re only just getting to know Emmit Fenn, we’re intrigued with what lies in his future.
