DJ Snake announces new music is on the way

DJ Snake has been all but ubiquitous in headlines over the past year. From earning headlining sets at high profile festivals like Ultra and HARD Summer, to dropping out of performances at Hangout and Wynn Nightclub amid his social media blackout last month, the Parisian hit-maker has been perpetually in the spotlight – even when his intention is to leave it.

Amid the his omnipresence, it’s easy to forget that the artist hasn’t actually released any new music since releasing his debut (and, allegedly, final) album, Encore, last summer, with the exception of a feature on Yellow Claw and Elliphant’s “Good Day“.

However, today, June 27, DJ Snake revealed that his musical hiatus will soon draw to a close, breaking his silence with the following message via his Twitter and Snapchat story:

Alongside his announcement, the French producer also posted a video to his Facebook, touting the metrics of his various hits and alongside a statement to his fans: “Thanks for supporting my Vision. This is just the beginning.”

It’s currently unclear what form this new music will take, but given the success of Encore and the momentum he’s managed to maintain since, it’s primed to be a major release.
