Icon Spotlight: MayICON TRACK OF THE MONTH MAY 1

Icon Spotlight: May

Icon Collective has solidified its reputation as the premier educational facility for electronic music production on the West Coast. The North Hollywood arts school has become a breeding ground for the next generation of talent, as evidenced by its formidable track record, which includes the likes of Jauz, MAKJ, Slander, SNBRN and more.

To spotlight some of the amazing talent coming out of the school, we’ve teamed up with Icon for a new series highlighting tracks from the past month from both current students and Icon graduates.

For Icon’s May Spotlight, we’ve got the privilege of showcasing a particularly diverse cast of talent.

Kicking off the Spotlight is female Icon grad Soul Bandit, who recently launched her project with “Mad Prophet,” a gorgeous, ethereal bass cut that instantly recalls the otherworldly charm of Grimes or CHVRCHES. Next up is another female grad, Lady Ocean, who dipped into deep house with new original “whispers.”

Former Icon instructor-turned-trap-phenom B-Sides teamed up with Kompany for an aggressive reimagining of RL Grime’s new single, “Reims.” Meanwhile, NZN dropped a peaktime house number with “On The Floor,” while Just Because debuted his first original with his sedative downtempo composition “Everything.”
