Lorde recruits Flume to produce ‘The Louvre’

Acclaimed art-pop and indie artist Lorde has surreptitiously tapped Flume to produce “The Louvre” off her sophomore LP Melodrama — the pairing had not been previously publicized. Flume had previously remixed her hit single “Tennis Court” which helped launch the Australian producer to stardom back in 2014.

“The Louvre” shines through due to its flawless production, depth of sound and the ease with which the background score complements Lorde’s crooning vocals. Flume’s contribution to the track, while subtle, is instantly recognizable — especially so with the bass line and drums. Whats more, Flume is able to maintain facets of his signature sound while creating a production solely in service to Lorde, among the more difficult sonic feats to pull off.

Lorde’s Melodrama is out today, June 16 worldwide.
