Pasquale Rotella dresses Mama Irene’s memorial statue in rave gear ahead of EDC

Pasquale Rotella honored his late mother (“Mama Irene”) a year after her passing by commissioning a statue of her person by a local LA artist. The finished product, which was completed in Autumn of 201, truly captures her personality as her beaming smile and open arms have now become immortalized.

In honor of EDC, Rotella has paid further tribute to his mother’s missing presence at the festival. Those visiting her grave will find her dressed in full rave attire, down to silly hats and armfuls of kandi beads that symbolize the friendships she’d foster during her time on this Earth.

Mama Irene had been a mainstay at Insomniac events, especially EDC as she continually supported her son during the growth of his empire. She was known for walking around the grounds and bringing joy to multitudes of partygoers, even staying all the way through until sunrise on certain occasions.
